ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee must have regular attendance/punctuality, be able to cooperate with others, and be completely honest.

  1. Providing educational and supportive intervention for clients, including crisis intervention and safety assessment for residential and non-residential clients.
  2. Providing on-call and crisis line coverage on a rotating schedule.
  3. Completing required intake processes for new residents to the shelter facilities, and educating residents on the rules of the facilities.
  4. Providing community education & outreach on issues of domestic violence and other victim services. Maintaining professional relationships with community agencies.
  5. Providing assistance to clients with legal paperwork and support in court as needed.
  6. Facilitating meetings and/or groups for residential and non-residential clients.
  7. Defining needs, setting goals, and determining eligibility for services for clients.
  8. Assisting with funding requests to meet client needs, as appropriate.
  9. Compiling and maintaining documentation and statistical records.
  10. Assisting with volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination.
  11. Providing daily management of the program facilities. Maintaining supplies necessary to meet the daily living needs of the residents.
  12. Coordinating, organizing and maintaining donations received.
  13. Participating in ongoing program developments as an integral part of the Tri County team.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight of volunteers and students as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED:
Education: Bachelors degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or human services; 20+ hours
of domestic violence training
Experience: 1 or more year working within the legal system 1 year or more work experience with
families experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault.
Special Skills: Bi-lingual language skills; knowledge of protective orders, crime victim’s
compensation and victim advocacy; computer/data base skills, group facilitation skills,
case management skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Current Colorado Driver License, with valid insurance.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
